Watch your lip, Ombre

While the ombre trend for hair has been making its way out (c’mon it had a 2-year run!), the ombre lip has made its grand entrance and seems to be going strong. Commitment phobes, worry no more- you can wear more than one fab shade at a time. And, even better, they can be from completely opposite sides of the color spectrum. Over my winter break travels, I was fortunate enough to spend some time with my dear girlfriends. Two of which, perfected this DIY ombre lip on New Years Eve for our Great Gatsby party. To create the look, they first prepped their lips with MAC’s “Prep & Prime Lip”. This great product helps to moisturize, prevent color bleeding, and lock in color for long-time wear. Secondly, they lined their lips with MAC’s lip liner in “Vino”. Finally, they finished the look filing in the lips with MAC’s lip liner in “Trust In Red”. To create a non-drastic, and softly blended look, they lightly swiped a lip brush along the connected color’s edges. Check out the steps below for the DIY instructions/pictorial guide. Ay, yi yi.... Chicas Bonitas!

Products Lindsay & Mckenna used:

MAC Prep & Prime Lip ($16.00, nordstrom.com)

MAC Lip Liner (Vino, $15.00, nordstrom.com) and Pro-Longwear Liner (Trust In Red, $19.50, nordstrom.com)

After applying the "Prep & Prime Lip", Lindsay applied "Vino" to her border.
